The Last 30%
When I write, the last 30% takes twice as long as the first 70%. I plan for this circumstance, but its quality defies planning. I will confess to a life-long “more-better” affliction.
When I published the first part of my Furies essay, the whole essay was complete. It was long (over 4,000 words), so I chose to publish it in three parts.
The third piece is on the neuroscience of sense-making. I knew it was perfunctory, but in the context of 4,000 words, it was OK.
I forgot it would be the last 30%. Once it was separate, oops.
This section has now become its own essay. Should be out soon, at least the first 70%. Grin.

Perfection is a sin, isn't it? Oh! the pleasure of relaxing into our very imperfect nature, not expecting too much, enjoying instead the pleasure of sharing through the words . . .
Deep bow,
Marguerite
Thanks for the comment :)
I recognize myself in "perfection is a sin." I will also testify that I savored many moments of triumph as I creatively develop and embellish the feelings and thoughts that are expressed in my writing.
My latest Essay - Clean Up, Feel Better - is what Furies, Part 3 became. The transformation was an awesome experience. I enjoyed my very imperfect nature.
